classes we offer
induction Course
The 6-week Induction course is an ideal introduction to the Iyengar Yoga method. It is especially designed for beginners in Yoga and those with little experience of Iyengar Yoga. It could also be an ideal way to come back to yoga after a long break. Our popular Induction courses are due back in January 2025. Can’t wait? Get in touch and together we will figure something out! Please note that these classes are also suitable to regular students as a means to supplement their weekly practice.
BEGINNERS Classes
Beginners classes are for new students or those with some basic knowledge of the Iyengar Yoga method. They are a natural progression after completion of our Induction Courses. They include active, restorative and some pranayama practice, and are the ideal way to carry on developing your yoga practice. Please note that these classes are also suitable to regular students as a means to supplement their weekly practice.
kids and teens
We are keen to offer a weekly yoga class that is specifically aimed at children and teenagers, 7+. Children are encouraged to practice a full range of yoga poses in a dynamic and playful way. If you want your children to try, please get in touch. We also welcome suggestions on day/time suitable to you!
MIXED ABILITY Classes
After about 1 year of regular attendance with us or equivalent experience, we encourage you to join the Mixed ability classes. They are longer (1.5 hour-long), and assume an ability to sustain a more intense and challenging practice. They imply a certain confidence and ability to practice inversions.
RESTORATIVE practice
After about 6 months of regular attendance to Beginners classes, a restorative practice is gradually incorporated within weekly classes. It assumes some knowledge of the use of props as well as a basic understanding of the ethics behind asana practice within the Iyengar tradition. A restorative class is always part of our regular Saturday monthly workshops.
one-to-one/ small group classes
If you cannot find a suitable class in the current timetable, it is possible to book private classes for yourself alone, or in a small group with family and friends. Get in touch to discuss options.
“Now is an auspicious time because this is all we have. Make the most of it.”
